"The way we travel and the way we park is changing." - Arturo Benigna, Managing Director Italy
Here at APCOA, we believe it is our responsibility to grow and develop as a company in an innovative, responsible and sustainable way. This relationship is just one of the ways in which we are strengthening our commitment to our colleagues, our customers and suppliers, our communities and the environment in which we work throughout Italy.
Our parking activities are at the heart of mobility as the starting or ending point of a journey by car, bus, motorbike, bicycle or any other form of individual or shared transport.
At APCOA we feel we can and must contribute to making this ecosystem as sustainable as possible. We have therefore introduced a group-wide ESG initiative focusing on three main pillars
- Environmental
- Social
- Governance
To help us move this initiative forward quickly, APCOA has partnered with First Climate and committed across the Group to measure scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions in early 2022, calculated according to the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. Going forward, we will report annually on our progress against our carbon reduction targets and the associated initiatives we have taken on our journey to net zero.
The last decade has seen our industry begin to change and embrace innovation at a faster pace than ever before. The lines between parking and mobility are intensifying. Electric cars and charging stations, the use of solar photovoltaics, the implementation of ANPR systems and cashless payment options, micro-mobility and digital solutions for smart cities, car parks as urban logistics centres are just some of the innovations in the sector. With self-driving cars, artificial intelligence (AI), the role of big data and sustainable energy sources on the horizon, the industry is likely to change even more.
This report details the innovations we, as a company, are bringing to the table that support our sustainable goals.
