A Success Story

APCOA stood for 'Airport Parking Corporation of America'. Its origin dates back to the 1960s, when APCOA Inc. was founded in the USA.

APCOA first appeared in Europe in 1970, as an association of parking companies in Germany and Austria. In the 1980s and 1990s, APCOA AG in Germany began to acquire other parking companies throughout Europe and in August 2007 bought the European business of a competitor, Central Parking System. Due to the range of services offered, which were developed to include both on-street and off-street parking, APCOA's business in Europe became completely independent and no longer connected to the USA.

The APCOA Group was acquired by French shareholder Eurazeo in early 2007 for a total sum of EUR 885 million. With the prospect of further expansion throughout Europe, APCOA will continue to be the largest parking company in Europe.
