APCOA operates a car park in central Verona, convenient for many of this UNESCO World Heritage city’s main sights.

‘In fair Verona, where we lay our scene’… Thus begins Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, one of three Shakespeare plays to be set in this beautiful city. The Shakespearean influence is as prevalent in Verona as the ancient Roman: visitors flock to Juliet’s Balcony (Casa de Giulietta is a 40-minute walk from our Cittadella car park) as well as to the Roman Arena di Verona (just 8 minutes from our Cittadella location). The Roman amphitheatre still hosts concerts, and is the venue for Verona’s annual festival of opera.

The Arena di Verona is on the Piazza Bra, the main piazza in the city. At the south side of the Piazza Bra, you’ll find the Portani della Bra: two huge arches that were originally designed to separate the Castelvecchio and Cittadella areas. The Portani della Bra are 8 minutes from our Cittadella car park. Castelvecchio itself, a 14th-century castle on the banks of the river Adige, is 15 minutes from our Cittadella location. The castle is now a museum of art and sculpture.

Verona isn’t only about external beauty: the city’s buildings house some of the most perfectly-preserved interiors you’re likely to see. Head to Palazzo Verita Poeta (5 mins from our Cittadella location) to see what life was like for 18th-century nobility. The immaculate drawing-rooms and ornate hallways breathe with the atmosphere of a bygone era, and the spectacular gardens are an extra-special surprise in the heart of the city.

Like many Italian cities, Verona is blessed with more than her fair share of spectacular religious buildings. Chief among these are the Cathedral of Verona (a 30-40 minute walk from Cittadella) and San Zeno Church (30 minutes from Cittadella).
